More event information:

Artist Omari Maynard is creating a one of kind painting called "Liquid Gold" to honor Black Breastfeeding Week which will be raffled off to raise money for the Brooklyn Perinatal Network.

Brooklyn Perinatal Network was established in 1988 from a community task force to address high infant mortality. Their purpose is to prevent and reduce infant/maternal illness and death, which for several years have been excessively high in our communities. By enabling at-risk residents to access vital information, coordinate care, supportive health and social supportive services and assisting families to secure public health benefits and resources needed to maintain health. We have seen a significant reduction in infant death and improved maternal and child health status. We cannot have a discussion about Black Breastfeeding without also discussing how the US maternal mortality crisis is impacting Black mothers.

Finally we will open up the floor for breastfeeding questions that will be answered by a certified lactation counselor. Babies and partners are welcome!
